Willpower Incorporated wants to help dispel the notion there's nothing to do in Quartzsite. We want our children to dream of having a good life in town instead of dreaming about leaving. Public services can change lives, and there is an opportunity, through our Q A C project, to have an activities center and swimming pool. Q A C will be a multi-purpose place for activities; crafts, theatre arts, basketball, dance, cheerleading, yoga, quilt making, after school programs, potlucks … activities to keep minds and bodies happy and healthy. |
An ounce of prevention beats a pound of cure, and a swimming pool might be that ounce. Teens have a lot to cope with and a canteen, gym or a place to hang out can turn problems into solutions, with help from friends. Places in town where you can do these things are usually booked, privately owned or "55+" (seniors-only). |

Why is this needed? Quartzsite has no local industry, save for seasonal tourism and Interstate traffic services. The resulting small-town atmosphere make Quartzsite an idyllic place to retire, and also to raise children...provided there is opportunity for supervised recreation after school, while parents are at work. Q A C wants to fill this need by partnering with entities like the Town of Quartzsite and Quartzsite Improvement Association, a non-profit organized for the betterment of Quartzsite, to provide this recreational facility for all ages to enjoy, year-round, for years to come. It's time to take care of Quartzsite! Contact us for progress reports, membership information, or to get involved with QAC. |
